Can you apply polished plaster over Gib or existing painted walls?
Yes — with the right preparation, which matters more here than with any other finish. Polished plaster shows every flaw in the base, so we bring walls to a Level 4–5 standard first. How durable is polished plaster? Does it crack?
Properly applied over a sound, well-prepared base and sealed, Fresco is a hard, long-lived surface — it handles daily life better than most people expect, and it doesn't fade or peel like paint. Cracking is almost always a substrate problem, not a plaster problem, which is exactly why we control the prep ourselves.
Does polished plaster work in bathrooms?
Yes — powder rooms and bathrooms are among the most popular places for it. In wet areas the finish is sealed appropriately for moisture and splash zones. For direct-shower walls we'll advise honestly on the right system and where tiles are still the smarter call.
What colours and sheens can Fresco be done in?
From soft whites and greiges through clay, olive and deep charcoals — the pigment is in the plaster itself, so the colour has depth rather than sitting on the surface. Sheen runs from a soft eggshell glow to a higher burnished polish. We trowel up real samples so you approve the exact combination before we start.
