The look and feel of natural stone, applied like a finish — one wall, done properly, that makes the whole room look expensive. Available in Fine and Coarse grades, applied by Porter's-trained specialists.
Master PaintersPorter's Stone Paint is a heavily textured, aggregate-loaded coating that dries to the look and feel of natural stone. Instead of cladding a wall in real stone — with the weight, cost and building work that brings — the stone texture is applied directly to the surface by a trained applicator.
The result reads as honed stone or soft render: matte, mineral, tactile, and full of subtle variation. It's also a quiet problem-solver — the texture disguises imperfect or previously patched surfaces that flat paint would broadcast to the room.
It comes in two grades — Fine and Coarse — and choosing between them is most of the design decision. Compare it with our other decorative finishes, or get a free instant estimate for your wall.
A tight, sandstone-like grain with a smooth, honed character. The quieter of the two — ideal for interiors, hallways and living spaces where you want texture you notice up close, not across the room.
A deeper, more pronounced grain with genuine shadow and movement. Reads like rendered stone — made for feature walls, fireplaces, entrances and exteriors that want real presence.
Textures above are indicative — we'll bring real Fine and Coarse samples to your wall so you can see and touch both in your own light.
| Stone Paint Fine | Stone Paint Coarse | |
|---|---|---|
| Texture | Tight, even, sandstone-like grain | Deep, pronounced grain with shadow and movement |
| Reads as | Honed stone / smooth render | Rendered stone / rustic masonry |
| Best rooms | Living rooms, bedrooms, hallways, powder rooms | Feature walls, fireplaces, entrances, exteriors |
| Personality | Quiet, refined, felt up close | Bold, architectural, seen across the room |
| Touch-up & wear | Very forgiving — texture hides marks and repairs | Extremely forgiving — the most camouflage of any finish |
Can't decide? Plenty of projects use both — Coarse on the hero wall, Fine on its neighbours. We'll sample both grades on your wall before you commit. Book a free consult.

The aggregate coating is applied and worked by hand to build even, natural stone texture across the wall.
Checked in raking light, sealed where the space needs it, site left spotless. A wall you'll want people to touch.
Stone Paint is an aggregate coating applied by hand, so it's priced by the wall, the grade and the prep — not a flat rate. A single feature wall is the usual entry point, and it's a fraction of the cost of real stone.
